Ways to Find, Shop & Save at Liquidation Stores
Here are liquidation stores and sites you can use to take advantage of closeout sales anytime. You don't have to wait for items to go on clearance in order to get a deal :)
As savvy shoppers, we love the word “Clearance” and we also get excited about “Liquidation”. In both cases, it means the products have to go AND they are priced to move! That means we’re certain to get a deal.
Wanna know more about where to find liquidation sales and savings? I’ve got insight that you’ll appreciate! Read on to start your next shopping adventure.
What Are Liquidation Stores?
Liquidation stores aren’t actually part of any one retailer. The clearance, returns, and overstock items they sell come from multiple retailers, many of which also carry Amazon returns or unsold Walmart merchandise.
When items don’t sell during clearance markdowns, they’re shipped off to liquidation stores (sometimes called salvage, discount, or bin stores) where you can often score them for up to 90% off.
Unlike traditional clearance aisles inside major retailers, liquidation stores carry an ever-changing mix of inventory. One week you might spot bedding sets, baby gear, beauty products, and kids’ toys, while the next you could find small appliances or furniture. Many stores also get indoor and outdoor furniture, bedding, rugs, wall art, and other household items for a fraction of retail price.
Easy Ways to Search & Shop Liquidation Stores and Closeout Sales
Department Store Liquidations
Department Store Liquidations sells truckloads and pallets from retailers like Lowe’s, Target, Amazon, and more. A little bit of everything can be picked up electronics, furniture, clothing and more. You can shop by store or by category.
Quicklotz
Quicklotz offers liquidation deals by the box, pallet, or truckload. In addition to wholesale merchandise liquidations, you can grab undeliverables too. These are items that for some odd reason can’t be delivered to those who ordered them. I’m sure you’ve seen the videos on social media — this is your chance to unbox some surprises yourself.
Liquidation.com
Liquidation.com allows you to bid on individual items, boxes, or pallets and they offer new, used, returned and surplus goods from major national retailers, manufacturers, small businesses, and wholesale clubs. I wish I had discover this one before we built our home as I spotted lights, flooring, and even the kitchen sink with bids significantly cheaper than retail.
Discount Wholesalers
Discount Wholesalers offers lots by the brand, the box, the truckload, or by category. The bigger the order, the bigger the discount — you’ll save up to 15% off. And get this…they have a clearance section! You gotta check that out! Sign up for their emails to get 5% off your next order.
B-Stock
B-Stock is the largest B2B marketplace for wholesale liquidation of returned and overstock inventory. If you like Target, Amazon, Footlocker, BJ’s, Walmart, Best Buy, and others, you can pick up truckloads and pallets of the merchandise you’re sure to love. Shop by store and category.
Direct Liquidation
Direct Liquidation sources products directly from retailers and manufacturers, which allows them to pass on significant savings to you. Their products come from stores like Walmart, JCPenney, Ferguson, and more. Pick things up by the pallet and category. The cool thing about this one is that they have locations noted, so you could save money on shipping by shopping more local.
Ollie's Bargain Outlet
You’ve probably heard of Ollie's Bargain Outlet and their catchy tag line of “Good Stuff Cheap!” They now have 618 stores in 32 states and are growing in popularity. They are a retailer of liquidation merchandise and can offer products for a fraction of the cost. It’s definitely worth checking out one near you to see what kind of deals you can score.
Big Lots
Big Lots is also considered a retailer of liquidation merchandise. That’s why their prices are often a deeper discount than Walmart and Target. They’ve filed bankruptcy and have closed down a lot of their stores as a result of that, but some of you might still have one near you to shop.
Walmart Liquidation Auctions
Walmart liquidation Auctions is the official liquidation channel for Walmart.com and Walmart Stores. Bid on excess inventory, store returns, and refurbished bulk lots directly from Walmart. Lots range in size from single pallets up to truckloads of excess inventory, and typically sell at a fraction of retail pricing.
Target Salvage Stores
Similar to Walmart Liquidation Stores, Target has salvage stores are retail stores like Goodwill and similar salvage shops that buy any excess Target store merchandise and returned items and sell them at severely discounted prices. There aren't as many stores that buy Target salvage, but more are popping up each year.
Amazon Bulk Liquidation
There is an entire storefront on Amazon called the Amazon Bulk Liquidation. There, you can pick up pallets of overstock and damage. This is only available to Amazon Business customers enrolled in Amazon Bulk Liquidations Store beta, but you can contact them if you would like to shop this section.

What You Need to Know about Liquidations
Purchasing liquidated goods is a great way to acquire a large quantity of product at a fraction of the cost. Granted, that means there are some risks involved. The items are often overstock, returns, or discontinued merchandise that a company needs to move quickly. If you plan on reselling, this can offer high-profit potential, but you need to be prepared for the unpredictable nature of the inventory.
Here are a few tips when shopping liquidations:
- Know your source. Shop reputable online market places and if you can shop direct from the retailer.
- Check the manifest. The manifest is a detailed list of the items that you should check out before you bid. This should give you an idea of the possible value, though keep in mind that this will NOT reflect the condition of the items.
- Study any photos. Photos are your opportunity to really put your skills to the test. Analyze the details and see if they provide clues to the condition. Request more photos if you need.
- Set a budget. It’s easy to get carried away, so keep yourself firm on a price. Don’t forget to factor in all costs like shipping. This all matters when it comes to your profitability
